About the course

As the cyber security authority, the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has developed a decentralized support network as a point of contact for cyber attacks as part of a conceptual response process - the Cyber Security Network (CSN).

With its successive escalation levels and an overarching rescue chain, it provides for Basic Training as a "Digital First Responder" beforehand. For prospective incident experts who meet the examination requirements set by the BSI and have at least 7 years' experience, the additional training course for incident practitioners was created.

This course qualifies participants as BSI incident practitioners. Upon successful completion, a BSI personal certificate is issued, with which they can register in the CSN as an incident practitioner and thus be available as a contact person for citizens. This would be the first step towards qualification as a BSI incident expert.
